What is GD&T Evaluation?

Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) Evaluation is a specialized inspection service focused on verifying that manufactured parts meet the precise geometric requirements defined on engineering drawings and 3D models. GD&T utilizes a symbolic language to communicate allowable variation in form, orientation, location, and runout, ensuring functional fit and interchangeability in assemblies.

ACTCO Metrology’s GD&T Evaluation service provides comprehensive measurement and analysis to confirm that your components conform to even the most complex tolerancing schemes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you perform GD&T?

Yes, Actco performs all of the GD&T applications. What we find, however, is that 95% of our customers have "not" learned the actual usage of this requirement. The basic "S.A.M." principle always applies to positioning call-outs. That stands for Sit on, Align to, and Measure to. Most customers just put A-B-C and let it go, and we then need to try and determine just what the customer really is looking for. You cannot measure to a "PLANE", but you need a "FEATURE" instead.
